We adopted Jezabelle from a local shelter when she was around 4 months old. She was our first dog as a couple together, and my first dog as an adult. Funny thing was, though, Jezabelle almost wasn’t.

Fred knew I had always wanted a dog, so he surprised me by taking me to the humane society for Valentine’s Day. Growing up, my love had always been Huskies and German Shepherds, so I had my heart set on one of those two breeds. The humane society ended up having 1 Siberian Husky; which we requested to see in the little play room. I assumed this dog would end up going home with us. We played with the pup for a bit; but never really felt a connection. There were no other dogs there that we were interested in, so they recommended that we check out Petfinder.com.

As soon as we got home, I started searching through Petfinder. After awhile, I landed on a page with a 4 month old, goofy looking mutt named Jezabelle. When I saw her face, I knew she was meant to be ours. I showed her to Fred, and said “That’s my dog”. I told him we had to go see her the next day.

The next day, we ended up at the animal shelter, where we got to meet Jezabelle. I felt instantly connected to this cute little mutt; and knew she had to come home with us to be our dog.
